Illuminations Strasbourg

Date 09/07/2020

Fall back into childhood for a few minutes during the summer.

As has been the case every summer for several years now, the cathedral's illuminations take everyone who comes to watch them back to childhood.

For a few minutes, several scenes follow one another and leave us dreaming.

To give you an idea of some of the illuminations in Strasbourg, here are some examples of the 2020 illuminations.

The illuminations, inspired by the works of Beethoven, projected onto the western façade of Strasbourg Cathedral.

The year before, in 2019, no doubt victims of their success, the animations were projected on several buildings of the city, up to the Quai des Bateliers.

This was an opportunity for me to take some photos with much more tranquility.

To sum up, if I had to give you my opinion on the illuminations, it's a good opportunity to enjoy the monuments differently and to have, for a few minutes, the eyes shining, but like all pleasant things, they are always much too short.

A small aside: unfortunately, the attacks and Covid episodes have brought their own layers of security, which are certainly necessary, but which in my opinion were a hindrance when I came, in addition to the very large number of people.

To get the most out of it, I advise you to come at the end of the evening, or even during the last days. After all, these are events that are played over and over again throughout the summer.

If you don't want to have exclusivity, you should be patient and come among the last ones.
