The Skotino Caves

Date 16/05/2019

In the bowels of the earth.

This time we are not far from Gouves.

We temporarily exchange our vehicle for a rucksack and take a small path.

We venture one step at a time into the bowels of the earth.

A little disoriented by the contrast between day and night, we progress gradually.

Once again, we feel so small in front of Mother Nature.

Time has sculpted these stones, one year after another, one drop after another.

Not being equipped for caving, we could not go very far given the darkness of the place.

The strong point of this place will thus remain for us the freshness, and once of its immensity.

Note that this cave is "raw". If you prefer to visit a cave that has been fitted out and illuminated, I advise you to go to the Psychro cave for example.
